Nicholas Giovanni Yaquinto is an American performer based out of the Southeastern region of the United States. He is seasoned in many types of performance including opera, art song, singer- songwriter, musical theatre, vocal jazz, and more. He has also found great success as a voice teacher and vocal coach.
Mr Yaquinto is very active in operatic repertoire. He will receive his Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance in May of 2019, and can be seen in the 2019 summer season as a Festival Artist in the Savannah Voice Festival. During the festival he will be performing the roles of The Pilot in The Little Prince and one of the four members of Forever Plaid, as well as performing a solo concert of his original songs in the Cafe Voice concert series. In the 2018 summer season Mr. Yaquinto was a studio artist at Opera Saratoga, performing the role of Assan in The Consul and covering the roles of Baron Zeta in The Merry Widow and Prince Gabriel the III of Belgium’s Trainer’s Son in the world premiere fo David Little’s Vinkensport. Other recent engagements include enrollment in his Master’s Degree as a Graduate assistant at Florida State University, performing the roles of Voltaire/ Pangloss/ Martin/ Camambo in FSU Opera Theatre’s production of Candide, and the roles of Fiorello/ Ufficiale in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Savannah Voice Festival.
In the summer season of 2017 Mr. Yaquinto performed the role of Il Conte Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro as a young artist at the Prague Summer Nights Festival, with performances spanning Tabor and Prague of the Czech Republic and in the prestigious Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. Previous engagements in 2017 include a residency with Opera Saratoga’s Opera to Go educational outreach tour, and participation in the Opera as Drama Young Artist Festival in New York City. He was also an international semi- finalist at the Concours International de Chant de Marseilles in France. In 2016 he made his professional debut at the Atlanta Opera as Paris in their production of Roméo et Juliette, was named a winner of the 2016 Casa Italia Vocal Competition, and performed the title role of Roscoe Conway in Seagle Music Colony’s world premiere production of Roscoe by Evan Mack. Since receiving his BMA from Georgia State University in May of 2015 Mr. Yaquinto was a winner of the 2015 Atlanta District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, performed as a featured soloist with the Atlanta Symphony, received the 2015 Casa Italia Vocal Scholarship, and was the winner of the FAVA Excellence in French Repertoire award at the 2015 CS Classical Singer Competition in Chicago. Mr. Yaquinto has been seen performing several roles across the world including Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Schaunard in La Bohème, Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Guglielmo in Così fan tutte.
